Sticky Zine Fair Melbourne 2013

Like a fool I tested my new camera on a bunch of comic folk at the 2013 Sticky Zine Fair in Melbourne and ended up with a bunch of pics taken with a low light setting. Please excuse the fuzziness and lack of focus, here's a bunch of comic folk snapped at the zine fair yesterday.

Sticky Institute Zine Fair: Victoria Drug Scene

Sticky Institute Paper City 2013 Zine Fair


This Sunday 10 Feb at the Melbourne town hall, The Sticky Institute host their annual zine fair. The town hall will be packed with zines and comics from the small presses of Melbourne.


Silent Army will be launching the third issue of their comics broadsheet Dailies including a New Zealand cartoonist section edited by Tim Danko.

How The White Men Came to New Zealand wad part of the Pageant of New Zealand series of books written by A.W. Reed and published by Wellington publisher A.H. & A. W. Reed in 1956. Russell Clark illustrated three books in the series with other volumes featuring work by Harry Dansey, L. C. Mitchell, Conrad Freiboe, and Dennis Turner.

Keith Chatto Gallery

Ronald Keith Chatto (1924 - 1992) had a prolific involvement in comics from his early twenties until his last years. Chatto was the first artist to illustrate The Phantom for Frew Comics in collaboration with publisher, Jim Shepherd, on writing duties for four issues. Chatto produced numerous covers for Page Publications with interiors reprinting material from America, England and Europe.

Several months in development, Destiny Scott, was produced by a 21 year old Chatto in 1946 for The Sydney Herald Sun after Chatto's deployment as a draughtsman for the R.A.A.F. during World War two.




In 1947 Chatto took up staff artist duties for The Australian Sunbather, contributing illustrations, comics, photography and layout duties.
